A sprag is a one-way mechanical clutch used in many automatic transmissions as a method of allowing the transmission to smoothly change gears under load. Allomatic sprags are full-hardened, individually loaded, and made with high-quality maraging steel that provide higher fatigue limits than stainless steel. Our sprag profiles are designed to reduce drag and create less wear. Notable applications include Chrysler A904, GM TH400, GM 3L80, GM 4T60, 4T65E, Ford E4OD, Ford 4R100, and Mercedes 722.6.
