The 4L80E transmission is a 4-speed longitudinal GM automatic transmission that was originally featured in the Hummer H1 and other GM heavy duty and commercial vans, trucks, and SUVs. The 4L80E transmission design is heavily derived from its TH400 predecessor. Today the 4L80E transmission is widely used in the performance and drag racing markets. Due to it's strong internal components, the 4L80E transmission is often swapped in place of the 4L60E in Camaros and other high performance GM applications.
